LEVEL UP KANSAS PRIVACY POLICY
Level Up Kansas helps Kansans find education and training for high demand careers so they can level up their lives with better employment and financial opportunities. Doing that work well means we sometimes need your information, and you deserve to know exactly how we handle it. This Privacy Policy describes how Level Up Kansas, Inc. ("Level Up Kansas," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you:

- visit our website at www.levelupks.com (our "site")
- contact us by email, phone, text message, or web form
- receive navigation, referral, or other services from us
- are served through the shared client management systems we use with our network partners, including the Everest Effect platform and the Gathered Strong Sedgwick County and Gathered Strong Love in Action networks
By visiting our site or using our services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our site or services.
Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you use our site.
Information you provide. Depending on how you work with us, this may include:
- Our services. When you request or receive services, we may collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, mailing address, zip code, date of birth, demographic information, household information, education and employment history, career interests, and service related needs. You may also choose to share other information during registration, intake, or a needs assessment.
- Your communications. When you contact us or request information, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
- Surveys. We may invite you to take part in surveys. If you participate, you may be asked to provide information, which may include personal information.
- Interactive features. We may collect information you submit through interactive features of our site or client management systems, such as forms, messaging, chat, comments, or our social media pages. Anything you post in a public area of these features is public and is not covered by the protections in this policy.
- Identity verification. When you enroll in our services, we verify that you are who you say you are. Online verification is provided by Stripe, Inc. through its Stripe Identity service. You upload an image of your government issued ID (such as a driver’s license or state ID) to Stripe, which checks that the document is valid and reads the information on it. A member of our team then views the image in Stripe’s secure dashboard and records the name, date of birth, and address shown on it so your record with us is accurate. We also record the type of ID and the state that issued it. We do not record your ID number, and we do not download, copy, or store the image in our own systems. The image stays with Stripe and is kept under the Stripe Privacy Policy. If you cannot verify online, a member of our team can verify your identity in person or by video, and we record that the check was completed, when, and by whom.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Web log data. Your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, the site you came from, and your general location (such as city or state).
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small files stored by your browser that help our site recognize you, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. See the Cookies and Analytics section below for details and your choices.
- Web beacons and pixels. Small images in web pages or emails that tell us whether a page was viewed or an email was opened.
- Third party plugins and tracking. Our site may include social media plugins or allow trusted partners to set cookies for analytics. These tools are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.
Aggregated and deidentified information. We may combine information so it no longer identifies any individual, for example to publish a community report or share results with funders, partners, or policymakers. This information will not identify you personally.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to serve you and to run our organization well.
Specifically, we use it to:
- provide navigation, referral, and other services to you
- connect you with colleges, training programs, employers, and community partners that fit your goals
- respond to your questions and requests

- detect and prevent security incidents, fraud, and other illegal activity
- maintain quality and safety on the site
- improve the site and develop new resources
We may combine information gathered through our site with information collected through our services. When we do, we handle the combined information in the way this policy describes.
How and Why We Share Information
We share personal information only when it helps us serve you or when the law requires it.
- Network partners, with your consent. We participate in coordinated care networks on the Everest Effect platform, including our Higher Education Network and the Gathered Strong Sedgwick County and Gathered Strong Love in Action networks. We share your information with the partners in a network only after you have completed that network's consent process, which names the network, explains what information will be shared, with whom, and for what purposes, and links to that network's privacy policy and current list of partners. Consent is voluntary, each network requires its own separate consent, and you may withdraw at any time through the Everest Effect platform or by contacting us. Information we receive about you from a network partner is used only to serve you and is not shared outside that network without your separate consent, unless the law requires it.
- Referrals you request. We may share your information with a third party when it is necessary to complete a service you ask for, such as a referral to a college, training program, or community resource.
- Everest Effect. The platform is operated by Everest Effect, Inc. When you are registered, Everest creates an Everest ID for you and maintains account, consent, and activity records under its own privacy policy. Everest may use deidentified information to operate and improve its platform and may keep records after our agreement with Everest ends. Please review the Everest Effect Privacy Policy for details.
- Service providers. We work with companies that perform services on our behalf, such as web hosting, customer relationship management, text messaging, email, analytics, and identity verification (Stripe, Inc.). These providers may collect or use your information to help us carry out the purposes described above, and each handles your information under its own privacy policy and its agreement with us.
- Funders and reporting. We share aggregate, deidentified outcome data with funders, partners, and the State of Kansas. We share individual records only where a grant agreement or law requires it, or where you have given consent.
- Legal purposes. We may use or share information when we believe it is necessary to comply with the law, a court order, subpoena, or other legal process; to investigate or prevent fraud, illegal activity, or threats to anyone's safety; to establish or defend our legal rights; or in connection with a reorganization, merger, or transfer of our organization.
What we will not do. We do not sell, license, or rent your personal information to anyone. We do not share your mobile phone number or text message consent with third parties for their own marketing.
Cookies and Analytics
Our site uses cookies to assign your browser an anonymous identifier, remember your preferences, and help us understand which pages are most useful. A cookie identifies the browser, not the person. Unless you identify yourself (for example by filling out a form), we do not know who you are, even if a cookie has been set.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to measure how visitors find and use our site, such as which pages are visited, how long people stay, and what device or browser they use. This information is collected in aggregate and helps us improve the site and understand which resources are most useful to Kansans. Google may set cookies and collect usage data under its own privacy policy. For more about how Google handles your data, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices. You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. You do not need cookies enabled to use our site, though some features may not work properly without them. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google's browser opt out add on.
Text Message Program
If you opt in to text messages from Level Up Kansas, we will send you recurring messages about programs, appointments, opportunities, and follow up on your services. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opting out. You can stop receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or call us at (316) 745-0726 or email info@levelupks.com.
Your consent stays with us. Text message opt in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, including affiliates or business partners. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your opt in is not transferable to any other party.
Reporting spam. If you believe your contact information was collected without your consent, please call (316) 745-0726 or email info@levelupks.com. Include the number or address that sent the message, the sender's name if shown, and the first few lines of the message. Level Up Kansas has a zero tolerance spam policy.
Data Security and Retention
Security. We use physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the personal information we collect. Even so, no website or system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send to us electronically, including by email. You share that information at your own risk.
Retention. We keep personal information as long as needed to serve you, to meet the reporting requirements of our funders and grant agreements, and as required or permitted by law. Because we follow participant outcomes over time, service records may be kept for several years after your last contact with us. Records in the Everest Effect platform are also held by Everest under its own privacy policy. Images of your ID used for online verification are held by Stripe under its own privacy policy and are not stored in Level Up Kansas systems. We keep the record that your identity was verified, the method used, and the date for as long as we keep your service record. When we no longer need your information, we dispose of it in a way that prevents it from being restored.
Where your information is processed. Our site and services are operated in the United States. Information we collect is stored and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your location. By using our site or services, you consent to that transfer and processing.
Your Choices and Rights
Your information is yours. You can:
- Review or update your information. Contact us at info@levelupks.com to learn what personal information we have about you or to correct or update it.
- Opt out of emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or email us directly.
- Opt out of text messages. Reply STOP to any message, or contact us.
- Limit tracking. Adjust your browser cookie settings and use the opt out tools described in the Cookies and Analytics section.
- Withdraw consent for data sharing. You can withdraw your consent to network sharing at any time through the Everest Effect platform or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent may limit the services we and our partners can provide.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or international privacy laws, such as the right to access, delete, or port your data, to restrict or object to certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. If you are a resident of the European Union or United Kingdom, these rights may include those provided under the GDPR and UK data protection law. We do not make decisions about you using automated decision making or profiling, except that our identity verification provider uses automated tools to check the validity of your ID. A member of our team reviews every verification, and if an online check does not pass, we can complete verification with you directly in person or by video.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us as described below. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible.

Children's Privacy
Our site and services are intended for adults and for students who are at least 16 years old and preparing for education or careers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without permission from a parent or guardian, and we never knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to Other Websites
Our site links to colleges, training providers, partners, and other resources. When you follow a link, you leave our site. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Each has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it.

Changes to This Policy
As our programs, partners, and tools change, we will update this policy to match. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date, so please check back from time to time. If we make a material change in how we use your personal information, we will notify you at the email address you have given us.

Higher Education Network: Network Privacy Policy
Level Up Kansas serves as Network Leader of the Higher Education Network on the Everest Effect platform. This section is the Network Privacy Policy for that network and is linked from the network's consent process. It describes what information may be shared among network partners, why, and who those partners are.
What may be shared. When you consent to the Higher Education Network, the following categories of information may be shared among the network partners listed below: your name and contact information; demographic information; education and employment history; career and program interests; service needs identified during intake or a needs assessment; and your enrollment, progress, and completion status with a participating college or training provider.
Why it is shared. Partners share this information to coordinate your education and career journey, including connecting you with the right program, completing admissions and enrollment steps, confirming your progress, and helping you reach the finish line. Partners may use information received through the network only to serve you directly and may not share it outside the network without your separate consent.
Your consent. Consent is voluntary and is separate from any other network you may have joined. You can withdraw at any time through the Everest Effect platform or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent stops future sharing but does not remove information a partner collected directly from you.

Current network partners. Roster last updated Oct 1, 2026.

Network Partner Role

Those networks are led by Gathered Strong Sedgwick County, and sharing within them is governed by the Gathered Strong Sedgwick County Privacy Policy and its list of participating coalition members
