Construction Students Build Real-World Skills—and a New Home
Students in Dodge City Community College’s Construction Technology program aren’t just hitting the books—they’re out building real homes. On May 8, DC3 and the Community Housing Association of Dodge City (CHAD) opened the doors to their latest student-built house at 1304 Military Ave.
Through this hands-on program, students gain experience in every part of residential construction—from the foundation to the finishing touches. It’s more than a classroom; it’s a job site where learners build the skills local employers are looking for. Along the way, they team up with community partners like CHAD, Black Hills Energy, and city leaders, getting connected to real opportunities in the industry.
If you’re ready to learn by doing and launch a career in construction, this program is the blueprint.
