Build A Pro Foundation: Apprenticeships

Finding the right career path—or the right employee—doesn’t always follow a straight line. That’s where Build a Pro Foundation comes in. 

Build a Pro Foundation is a Kansas-based nonprofit that serves as an apprenticeship intermediary, helping employers create, manage, and sustain registered apprenticeship programs while supporting apprentices every step of the way.  

Unlike traditional “set it and forget it” models, Build a Pro stays connected to apprentices throughout their program. Once someone is placed with an employer, the team provides ongoing guidance, tracking, and real-life support—recognizing that success at work is often tied to what’s happening outside of work, too. 

Apprenticeships aren’t limited to one industry or one type of learner. Build a Pro works across construction, IT, medical fields, professional services, and more. One of Build a Pro’s most powerful tools is helping people discover where they naturally thrive with skills and aptitude assessments. Individuals can step into roles that fit how they think and work—not just what’s on their resume. 

For employers, Build a Pro offers a flexible, customized approach. Programs can be adapted from existing apprenticeship models or built from the ground up based on real business needs. Build a Pro handles program design, registration, reporting, and candidate sourcing—making apprenticeships accessible even for employers who’ve never tried them before.
