Start a career in Dental Health
Want to launch a career that helps people smile—literally? Whether you're into hands-on support or ready to lead with clinical expertise, Flint Hills Technical College has two awesome ways to help level up in the dental field.
Option 1: Dental Assisting
Certificate (1 Year) or Associate Degree (2 Years)
Want to jump into the workforce fast? Start with the Dental Assisting certificate—a one-year, skills-based program that gets you ready for entry-level roles in dental offices. You'll learn chairside techniques, office management, and more.
Thinking about a long-term path? Those certificate courses also count toward the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Dental Assisting. With this 2-year degree, you'll build your technical and general education knowledge through classroom, lab, and clinical experiences—so you graduate with skills that employers are looking for.
Good news: The Dental Assisting program is eligible for the Kansas Promise Scholarship—which could cover your tuition.
Option 2: Dental Hygiene
Associate of Applied Science (2 Years)
Ready to take things up a notch? The Dental Hygiene AAS is a competitive, two-year program that dives deeper into clinical care. You'll take technical and general ed courses, and participate in supervised experiences focused on dental hygiene diagnosis and assessment.
Heads up: There are prerequisites required before you can apply, and admission is competitive—but if you're driven, this program is an incredible launchpad for a high-demand healthcare career.
And yes—this program is also Kansas Promise Scholarship eligible.
