Looking for extra support to figure out your next step? TRIO programs at Kansas community and technical colleges are here to help—and they’re totally free for eligible students.
TRIO is a federally funded program that supports people from low-income households, first-generation college students, and those with disabilities. Services range from career and college planning to application and financial aid help—all with real people walking alongside you.
Here’s how it works:
You’ll start by filling out a quick application and meeting with a TRIO counselor—usually a one-hour, in-person meeting (or via Zoom if needed).
During that meeting, you’ll talk through your interests and goals, and your counselor will help you get set up with a free online career exploration tool.
You can explore on your own or with support, and if you find a path that fits, TRIO can help you take the next steps—like enrolling in a program or applying for scholarships and financial aid.
It’s a simple, supportive way to get clarity on your future—and it’s built for adults who are ready to take a step forward.
TRIO programs are available across the state. Ask your Navigator if you qualify, or visit LevelUpKS.com to learn more and get connected.
